Pet Odor Removal Service Denver

Carpet Cleaning Experts for professional stain and odor removal services Denver

Urine bonds to the fiber and is very difficult to clean out. Here’s a brief explanation as to the procedures our trained technicians use in your home to take care of pet odor:
First, the areas of urine contamination must be identified. We can use several different inspection tools to identify the areas of urine contamination.
Second, the urine must be treated with a special urine pre-treatment to break the bonding so that when the carpet is cleaned much of the urine can be extracted.
Thirdly, the areas of urine contamination must be treated with enzyme injections that attack the urine at the molecular level to actually eat the remaining urine deposit .

When this procedure is followed excellent results can be achieved.

How to Throw a Dog Birthday Party

Birthday parties aren’t just for people. Pet parties are the next big thing. Get tips on throwing the perfect bash, pet-friendly games and pet party themes.

Elaborate decorations, giant cakes, overflowing presents and fun games. Celebrations aren’t just for kids anymore. Pets are enjoying their pawties too.

From simple in-home celebrations with their owners, to pre-planned elaborate pet parties with dozens of four-legged guests, some pet owners spare no expense when it comes to their fur babies.

Professional pet party planners say canine birthday parties are on the rise and the sky is the limit when it comes to the decor, food and games. To keep dogs and people entertained, pet party planners like Kristina Robertson, owner of highly rated Barkely Square Professional Pet Services in Alexandria, Va., recommend the following tips to plan the perfect pet party.

Find a pet party location

“If the party is at your home, you’ll need to make sure the yard or home is pet friendly and pet secure,” says Robertson, adding most of the 20 pet parties she’s planned were at the client’s home. She says it’s important to secure fences and doors, and to and make sure any valuables are put up in case the dogs get too excited.

Pickles the bulldog celebrates her first birthday.

Other companies, such as doggy day cares and boarding facilities, host parties in their facilities. Highly rated Canine Cabana in Riverview, Fla., hosts at least two to three birthday parties a month for clients. For $195, staff invite up to 15 dogs to celebrate a pet’s special day. Riverview, Fla., member Cathy Kimmel says it’s a price she was more than willing to pay for her dog, Abby-Renae. “I don’t have any human children, so having a birthday party for my ‘fur child’ was the closest thing I could do to honor her,” Kimmel says.

Canine Cabana decorated the entire facility for the event with streamers and balloons and brought in a dog-friendly cake and played games with the guests. Kimmel made goodie bags full of dog treats for the guests.

“Knowing my dog was treated like the princess she is was so special,” Kimmel says, adding that the other pet owners even brought gifts for Abby-Renae.

Decide on a pet party theme

Picking a dog party theme and having fun with it provides creative opportunities for pet parties.

Robertson says there are plenty of ideas for themes on the Internet. Her most extravagant event cost around $3,000 and featured a pink leopard print party theme for a bulldog named Pickles.

She decorated tables in leopard prints with hot pink fur and served cake, cupcakes and treats with the same motif.

Because it occurred during the summer, Pickles’ party also featured a pink cool-down tent with misters for both the human and canine guests.

Pickles’ owner, Sarah Zuidema, admits to the extravagance, but says she loved every second of the dog party.

Zuidema ordered a custom leopard dress with a pink tutu for Pickles and made sure she dressed in the theme pattern as well. Her other dogs also matched perfectly.

Play pet friendly games

As with a kid’s party, entertainment is important. In the summer, many pet owners put plastic kiddie pools full of water in the lawn to keep the dogs cool. Robertson suggests filling a bucket with chicken-flavored hot dogs and let the pups bob for them. She also plays red rover, in which owners face their pets and call for them.

Don’t forget doggie bags

Pet parties provide the perfect opportunity to take the idea of “doggie bags” to the next level.

Fill the bags with dog-friendly treats, tennis balls, plush toys and bandanas to add to the fun.

For food, Canine Cabana uses a local dog bakery for their treats and cakes. Be sure to leave plenty of water around for the dogs and keep it fresh.

To capture the event, consider hiring a professional pet photographer, or someone with experience photographing pets. Robertson does this for most events.

“Make sure they’ve worked with animals before. It’s not the same as taking photos at a kid’s birthday party,” she says.

She recommends looking for someone with a portfolio that includes pet parties.

Pet precautions

To prevent bad pet behavior, Robertson always advises clients to keep a professional dog trainer on site to ensure things run smoothly, and to look for signs of aggression.

Canine Cabana does a full assessment on their canine clients before holding a party to ensure all the animals are able to get along. If the pet is not pet friendly, they recommend holding a party with the pet’s family in a more intimate setting.

Removing urine Odor from carpet

Removing urine Odor from carpet

If you have pets, you know that accidents can happen. Taking action immediately and knowing how to get pet urine odor  out of carpet is key to  successfully removing .

If your cat or dog soils the carpet it’s important to act fast to clean up pet urine while it’s still wet. If the urine dries, it can stain the carpet and promote bacteria growth. Immediately place several paper towels over the soiled area of carpet, then walk on the paper towels so they absorb as much pet pee as possible.

After soaking up the stain, you can either call in a professional carpet cleaner, or use a homemade or commercial pet stain remover to eliminate the odor.

A carpet cleaning solution of one part white vingegar to one part water can neutralize the ammonia smell of pet urine without damaging carpet fibers.

Eco-Friendly Carpet Cleaning Options

Healthier alternatives for professional and do-it-yourself carpet cleaning

by Earth Talk
Updated March 17, 2017
Dear EarthTalk: My carpets need professional cleaning, but I don’t want chemicals and fumes in my house. Some companies advertise “safe,” but I’m not sure.
— Suzie Franklin DeFazio, via e-mail
Traditional commercial carpet-cleaning solutions contain a cocktail of noxious synthetic chemicals. One, perchloroethylene, commonly called “perc” in the industry, is a notorious dry cleaning additive known to cause dizziness, fatigue and nausea if ingested or inhaled.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also links perc to kidney and liver damage. Another chemical, naphthalene, a solvent manufactured from coal tar, is considered toxic to the human central nervous system and a possible carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Carpet cleaning chemicals get into the air of a room when applied during cleaning, and can also be ingested by kids who play on the floor soon afterwards. Besides such on-site health threats, carpet cleaning chemicals can pollute local groundwater if disposed of improperly (such as directly down your drain). Wastewater from carpet cleaning requires treatment and/or filtration in order to neutralize contaminants.

Eco-Friendly Carpet Cleaning Professionals
Thanks to growing awareness about the potential health impacts of carpet cleaning, a new breed of professional services has sprung up that eschews dangerous and polluting chemicals in favor of more natural solutions.

Some of the newer and more green-friendly cleaning solutions used by professional services are plant instead of chemical based, and include such brand names

Triple Action Bonding, Encapsulating, and Absorbing Odor Counteractant

Most carpet cleaning services are local businesses, and many have greened-up their processes in recent years.

If you need your carpets cleaned you should call around and ask questions. If a service doesn’t know whether their cleaning solution is plant or chemical based, or if they don’t have systems in place to treat or transport wastewater responsibly after cleaning, they should probably be avoided.

A few companies  also stand out for their commitment to more natural carpet cleaning operations. Uses Soap  Free  cleaning bubbles instead of harsh chemicals to remove dirt from carpet fibers. It uses a fraction of the water of other services and avoids harmful detergents, solvents and enzymes.

Alternatives to Professional Carpet Cleaning
Keeping carpets clean to begin with is one way to minimize the need for too many professional cleanings. The green living website,, suggests spot cleaning carpet stains with a homemade non-toxic solution consisting of equal parts white vinegar and water. The solution can be sprayed onto stains and then sponged up a few minutes later in combination with warm soapy water.

Meanwhile, hardier stains might warrant an overnight treatment with a paste made from salt, borax and vinegar, which can be vacuumed up the next morning. For more ideas, Sierra Club Canada’s “Safe Alternatives to Household Hazardous Products” offers a plethora of additional home remedies for spot cleaning carpets.

Cleaning products as bad for lungs as smoking 20 cigarettes a day

Using cleaning sprays can cause a decline in lung function comparable to the damage seen in regular smokers, a study warns. Researchers at the University of Bergen in Norway analysed data from 6,235 participants in the European Community Respiratory Health Survey.

The participants, whose average age was 34 when they enrolled, were followed for more than 20 years. “While the short-term effects of cleaning chemicals on asthma are becoming increasingly well-documented, we lack knowledge of the long-term impact,” said Cecile Svanes, a professor at University of Bergen.

“We feared that such chemicals, by steadily causing a little damage to the airways day after day, year after year, might accelerate the rate of lung function decline that occurs with age,” Svanes said. The study found that the accelerated lung function decline in the women working as cleaners was “comparable to smoking somewhat less than 20 packs for those many years”.

Office hazards: Women working as cleaners face increased lung function decline

That level of lung impairment was surprising at first, said Oistein Svanes, a doctoral student at University of Bergen. “However, when you think of inhaling small particles from cleaning agents that are meant for cleaning the floor and not your lungs, maybe it is not so surprising after all,” he said.

The decline in lung function is attributable to the irritation that most cleaning chemicals cause on the mucous membranes lining the airways, which over time results in persistent changes in the airways and airway remodelling. The study did not find that the ratio of FEV1 to FVC declined more rapidly in women who cleaned than in those who did not.

The metric is used when diagnosing and monitoring patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. The study did find that asthma was more prevalent in women who cleaned at home (12.3%) or at work (13.7%) compared to those who did not clean (9.6%).

The study also did not find that men who cleaned, either at home or at work, experienced greater decline in FEV1 or FVC than men who did not. The researchers took into account factors that might have biased the results, including smoking history, body mass index and education.

“The take home message of this study is that in the long run, cleaning chemicals very likely cause rather substantial damage to your lungs,” Oistein Svanes said. “These chemicals are usually unnecessary; microfibre cloths and water are more than enough for most purposes,” he said.
